Trashy Tinsel dangle tin earrings in reds and blues

These recycled earrings are made from a holiday tin covered with poinsettas and bulbs.  Holiday tins are easy to find but it is difficult to make a pair of earrings that can be worn other than at the holidays.  With the colors in this tin, I was able to create a design that could be worn year round.

The larger bluish part is just over the size of a quarter.  The red section is teardrop shape with notched edges topped with a piece of tin about the size of a dime.  These pieces are all cold connected together with rivets.  There is a red teardrop glass bead dangling from the bottom.  The total length of the dangle from the top of the Niobium ear wire to the bottom of the bead is two and three quarters inches.

The Trash(y) Tin(sel) line started when I could no longer use a vintage Christmas tin of my mothers.  It was from the 40's and was no longer food worthy but too beautiful to discard.  Instead of ending up in the trash, the tin was transformed into jewelry.
